Karate International was formed by Sensei Steve Leak in September 1997. He had trained in dojos in various parts of the world and in the UK. Through this he developed friendships that still continue today.

Through karate and the martial arts in general Sensei Leak found he was able to break down the barriers that restricted a lot of cultural interaction. In our dojos Sensei Leak welcomes all students regardless of cultural or religious backgrounds. He expects all other students and instructors to respect each other as individuals and does not allow racist or religious discrimination.

Through this practice our students have developed greater understanding of each others culture and friendships that would not normally happen thrive in the dojo.

Karate International is a full member of FEKO International. The governing body for karate in the UK. We are also members of The British National Martial Arts Associations and several other International bodies.

We compete at local, national and international tournaments on a regular basis and have members who train with the FEKO England squad.

Gradings are held on a regular basis and all students that attain the standard required for their examination are entered.

We hold regular seminars which include self defence, weapons, jiu jitsu and many other systems

Our students also have a social calendar with the juniors attending bowling days and swimming events whilst senior members attend dinner functions and nights out at shows etc.
