Karate International offer a varied assortment of martial arts programs to suit all age groups and abilities. Our programs range from Kickin Kidz for 5 year olds to Mixed Martial Arts for the more energetic adult. Our instructors will advise you on what is the best program for your needs.

Kickin Kidz

Our Kickin Kidz program is aimed at children aged 5 and 6. This program helps young children develop motor skills and confidence whilst at the same time having fun. Children on our Kickin Kidz program are not put under the same pressure as older children attain their belts. Progression in this program is on merit and grading exams take place in class rather than at the normal examinations. The program still delivers the fundamentals of the martial arts with the children learning the basic kicking, punching and self defence techniques taught to older children but focus is more on building respect, discipline, pride and motivation.

Junior Karate

Our Junior Karate program focuses on children aged 6+ to 12 years old. This program includes a  full martial arts package of karate techniques, self defence and competition level training. Our students that train in karate are expected to strive to meet the best standards possible in their training and in their daily life. Junior karate students grade under a strict exam procedure that is recommended and approved by the national governing bodies. This enables our students to attend national and competitions. They are also eligible to attend the national squad training and selection sessions held on a regular basis by the national governing body. Our junior students can move up to the Junior Leader Program when they attain the required belt level.

Senior karate

The senior karate classes offer a dynamic work out for those wishing to train at maximum level whilst also accommodating those that just wish to train for general fitness or self defence purposes. All of our senior students are eligible to grade for national recognised belts and all of our senior black belts are registered with the national governing body. We have several senior students that attend and train with national squads. All of our seniors can move up to the instructor training program when they reach the required belt level.

Junior Leaders Program

Our junior leaders program is open to all children aged 11 to 15 years old. Our junior leaders take on the role as mentors for new students. This gives the new student a friendly face that they can turn to when the need help with their karate. Junior leaders also assist the instructors in the class with the junior grade students. The juniors leaders themselves learn to develop leadership qualities and build better communication and life skills through this program. Many of our former junior leaders have gone on to become senior instructors themselves. The skills that are acquired from our program are transferable into the school environment and often children's school work improves along with their confidence.

Trainee Instructor Program

Our trainee instructor program is open to all adults over the age of 16 years. Our trainee instructors undergo full training in teaching effectively and safely. Our program offers nationally recognised qualifications. To be eligible to be accepted onto the program the student must have attained the level of brown belt above in any recognised martial art and be willing to undergo a full criminal background check and be available to attend classes on a regular basis and undergo examinations.
